Hi to all!

Just checking in. Have registered a few months back and have really learned a lot from reading the various threads.

As a small boy, I had always been a fan of Rolex. I guess it was also due to the influence of my Father whom I remember was always wearing his SS DJ on a jubilee. I never really saw him wear anything else.

I have a Coke GMT II that my dad gave me after graduating from college. This watch has taken a lot of abuse and has kept ticking. I wore this watch when I met my wife, wore it for my wedding and witnessed the birth of my 2 sons. Due to my GMTs age, its bracelet has stretched, the bezel faded and the crystal scratched and chipped. But each time I look at it to check what time it is, I still can't help but stare and admire this watch. I have since added a "companion" for my GMT early this year. After reading through the threads here, I purchased a "pre-loved" Expy II which I got on my birthday earlier this year. Told my wife that it really wasn't for me. Since I had 2 boys, I just wanted to make sure each of them had a Rolex when the time comes.

Planning on adding another Rolex if budget permits. Hopefully a Sub Date. I feel that this is getting to be an addiction.

Apologize for the long message. Thank you for reading and more power (and Rolexes) to all!

Welcome to TRF. Glad you finally came out of hiding and started posting. That's a great story you have. Mind those watches well for those sons of yours. Hopefully they will appreciate them when the time comes.

And you're right, this is an addiction. Worst of all, it's chronic and incurable. So just learn to live with it and enjoy the disease.

Welcome nvv

That's a great story, I like the excuse you gave your wife to by your EXII Nevertheless, it is a valid excuse.

So for your next Rolex you either need to have another child, or find a new excuse to tell your wife you need a third. Maybe if you give the 2 away to your sons, you will need one more for yourself.

Thanks for the welcome guys. For now, 2 boys are enough. Have my hands full already. So the 3rd Rolex will most likely be for me. Thanks for helping me come up with an excuse Lol-x!
