Incoming: Panerai 422
I picked up a Panerai 422 yesterday from my AD. I have previously been a owner and was an early admirer for the brand. Panerai has lost me on a lot of levels with the marketing and what I believe to be a, sells mentality, that steps over collectors. But I do like a lot of the watches and the 422 is one of my favorites that can be obtained for a reasonable amount. I have owned this watch before and I regretted letting it go. I have more than a dozen straps that I have keep from my previous ownership experiences. Knowing I would be back so I am not starting from scratch.

Welcome back!
Good call to set aside the drama and just focus on the watch, which is great! |

Congrats! The 422 has been on my want list for a long time now and hopefully isn't too long before I can add a PAM back to the collection.

Welcome back to the fold.... I'm currently in the throes of dumping two of my Rolex's and adding a few more PAMs to my collection ... at the end of the day "I just like 'em better" - and that's what counts after all....
cheers

Congrats on a real beauty and welcome back
Like Peter, I'm seriously considering ditching a Rolex or two in favour of more Panerais

Good choice. I have a few Panerai's and love them. They give me a nice break from Rolex. Love the 422.

Thanks for the kind words. I do enjoy the straps. Here is one that I had made a number of years ago that I think goes well with the 422.

Newcomer to the forums here. Congrats on the purchase! I am currently weighing the decision to refund my 60th anniversary Speedy to fund a used 422. I like the Speedy but the thought of paying $7500 (tax included) for a Speedmaster is a little off-putting. Thoughts?

Totally agree. I replaced my green sub with a Pam 560 last year and just bought a Pam 424 this past weekend.

Congrats on the new watch. 422 was definitely in my top when I was looking. Went with another model but wish I could of got both. :)
