111468 Montblanc letter opener incoming
How exciting can a letter opener be you say? I mean, it's just a fancy dull knife right? This one was of those things that when I opened the box I said "oh wow, that's a nice piece of kit!" Usually I have to warm up to things when I first see them in person. It looks great! It was difficult to find much information about it though. I'll tell you what I know so far. Everything on it is polished, even the wood inlay. The wood is a very dark charcoal color but you can see some lengthwise grain that's a slightly lighter charcoal. Very cool detail and really makes the piece. The metal is all polished and ruthenium plated so like black chrome. The entire back of the opener is plated. There are no flaws in the piece. Not even a blemish. It was also made in Italy of which is interesting for Montblanc. I guess this is normal though looking at their other office products. I normally don't buy such exotic things for mundane tasks but I was on a quest to find the nicest looking letter opener available (in my opinion) since I can no longer get a Purisme carbon fiber opener.

Nice piece. I have my eye on a vintage letter opener in a local boutique. Never get any mail apart from bills so might as well enjoy opening them

Unfortunately all I've been opening lately are bills as well. I did get some junk mail though so that was a ray of sunshine

Any luck from them? I believe the AD price is going to be outrageous compared to gray market.
