November price increase confirmed!

Just got off the phone with my favorite AD who received the new Omega price list today.

It is not an across the board increase but he gave me a couple of examples:
Speedy Pro, 3570.50, up from $3450 to $3700

PO, 2210.50, up from $5900 to $6200
Effective November 1st.

The discontinued 2254.50 SMP is not on the list so no increase there and he currently has 23 in stock.

Thanks, Fr. John. I guess if you can afford an Omega you can afford another 7 percent, but not the best timing for Omega's U.S. ADs.

David,

My AD told me some months back to expect an increase around Oct-Nov. Omega's idea was to take advantage of the Olympic exposure and the new Bond movie opening in November.

It's hard to believe that the Speedmaster Professional has almost doubled in price in about five years.

But then again my 105.012 sold new for around $160. I bought it in 2003 for $1300 and they now go for $5K+. (At least before the financial melt down.)

You would think that with today's market they would be decreasing the prices... well then again I guess there are luxuries LOL

Thanks for sharing Fr John. Are those MSRP? What would be the normal discounts for Omegas? Is 20-25% normal? I'm interested in either 3572.50 or 3573.50.

Yes, those prices are MSRP. Prices increased 5-7% depending upon the model.

My AD ships downunder frequently. I do not quote his prices but PM me if you want his contact info.

Thanks Fr John. Unfortunately with the Aussie currency like it is, the better option for me would be to buy locally.

I was at the Omega AD on Monday.

They said they were not expecting a price increase.

This is the same bunch that couldn't find the watch I was interested in in the catalog the first time I went in.

I came back with the reference number taken from the website and a nineteen year old salesgirl with a plunging neckline and a mouth full of bubble gum found it in less than a minute.

A store full of knuckleheads.

I have the money to lock in the price, but actually, I think I'll put off my next purchase a bit longer and look at some other brands, like Hamilton.

Thanks Fr. John for putting me in contact with your AD! My Seamaster Professional is on the way to my wrist as we speak. It will arrive sized! Your dealer could not have been nicer and his prices are very competitive. Cheers, Bill P.

Grady,

My AD gave me a heads up on the Omega price increase a couple of months ago and called me on 10/6 with the new price list in hand. Sounds like your AD must really be out of the loop.

BTW, my AD carries Hamiltons as well.
