Err buddies...that looks to be either a mid sized or Lady Gold DateJust...
What's the Ref # n serial prefix on this watch...? It would be easier to tell if there are pics of the markings on bracelet...case... inside backcase cover...n clasps... Those pics are not taken under natural lighting condition...it would be difficult to tell for sure... |

I can't see the lug stampings indicating that it is 18K. Based on your pics, I wouldn't touch it.

I'll review the watch next time I see it again. It's weird because I tried to do exactly as I've read without being able to do anything else internally (cracking it open).
I examined for lug, caseback, bracelet marks. Maybe I was nervous and didn't look hard enough as I was too intent on just snapping pics and looking later. What did I notice first? That the watch was a "paper weight"! I was wearing my gold BALL watch as well, but this small (maybe midsize Datejust?) was heavy throughout. Case and bracelet had considerable wear on the back. Some tarnishing throughout on the back clasp, etc. About the lighting. I took a couple pics with the flash and without. The dial is starburst and the gold is indeed very rich every spot I look. I know that this watch is over 10 years old and yet I don't see any flaking, discolouring or other signs that this could be a plated gold INVALID piece. The owner: not a watch guy, but wealthy. I don't think he would know at all if he was bait-and-switched on this piece. Again, my initial feeling is that I only have question marks about seeing no identifying marks on the back, lugs, bracelet. I'll examine more carefully next time! |

The script on the dial doesn't look Rolex crisp to me and the endlinks look a bit chunky??
I'd say it's not a Rolex bracelet.
