Carbonated Water AKA Sparkling water
Hi
Just want to get everyone's thoughts, especially those who prefer sparkling water over the normal drinking water. Why is sparkling water so popular? What's so nice about it and what am I missing out on? For me, I dislike the taste and feeling of bubbles in my mouth so I stay the hell away from it. I would pick normal drinking water over sparkling water any day. I get digestion issues thereafter with excessive burping. Now I have nothing against carbonated drinks like coke or Dr. Pepper. Yes it's carbonated but as it's accompanied by a great taste, it goes down rather acceptably. But if it's just carbonated water, it's a harder "pill" to swallow sans sugar/caffeine/kick. |

Almost has a bitter taste to me, no thanks.

Agree. Not for me. Some of the fruit flavored ones at Costco are pretty good though.

I would buy it in the past as an alternative to soda as pointed out above. Some of the flavoured ones make it a bit easier to drink for sure. 9/10 times I'll go for regular bottled water over this stuff.

Are you talking about drinks like Perrier/San Pellegrino, or something else?

Love sparkling water. My favorite non-flavored sparkling water is called Gerolsteiner. It's German and you can get it at Trader Joe's. It's super carbonated and has a very high mineral content. It tastes great. I also enjoy Pellegrino and (Perrier to a slightly lesser extent).
As far as flavored waters go, La Croix has some great flavors. There is a new company called Bubly (owned by Pepsi) that I am really enjoying. |

Don't mind some soda-water with my Scotch on a hot day but can't drink the stuff as a thirst quencher. Likewise never drink carbonated drinks for the same reason. The carbonation bloats me and makes it hard to swallow.

I've been using a soda stream for years. At home I drink mostly sparkling tap water. I find it more refreshing and satisfying. Especially after a long run on a hot day.

I really love sparkling water. Drink a ton of it. They have flavored too. I think for some it's just a matter of getting used to it. When I was younger I couldn't stand it.

Because sometimes you want to chug something other than beer! Never drink soda.
Spindrift is the best. We like Le Croix too. https://spindriftfresh.com/drinks-ca...rkling-waters/ https://spindriftfresh.com/our-story/about-spindrift/ |

I almost can’t drink regular water anymore. I go through the stuff like it was... water.
Seltzer water, club soda, Perrier, San Pellegrino... it’s all good but I usually just drink canned seltzer water. |

Gerolsteiner Sprudel (the most bubbly version) is my favorite. I find Perrier to be only ok, the bubbles feel smaller and not as much fizz. I don’t know what some of you are talking. Bubble water with lime on ice is my favorite drink. I don’t drink sodas as they’re horrible for you, only milk, juice and water. The carbonation breaks up the monotony. |

Yep, tastes great after a run. Which is pretty much the only time I drink carbonated water.

Bubbles, no bubbles, makes no difference to me. If I'm thirsty it's going down.

Love sparkling water, drink it daily. Years ago, I drank a lot of soda/pepsi. I found my attraction to soda/pepsi was the carbonation not the sugar flavoring, so it was a natural upgrade once I wanted to stop drinking soda pop.

You summed it up perfectly. That's the same experience that I have! It's fine for coke, but the moment it's non flavored it's hard to swallow.
