My gf gifted me an Apple watch that I wore religiously for about a year. Now that the novelty has worn off I only use it to track my workouts. It was an enjoyable change of pace and the upside was a rekindled interest in mechanical watches when I came around. As somebody once said I think the effect on the mechanical watch market is limited; if anything it can act as a gateway drug to watch collecting beginners.

Yes definitely wear my iwatch regularly as my job requires frequent hand washing and scrubbing for procedures and watch needs to come off. On those days, definitely no Rolex as I’m afraid to forget to put it back on and it be “misplaced.” Have never worn them simultaneously though and done think I would.

I wear a Fitbit Flex 2 on my dominant hand. It is inconspicuous and gives me all I need coupled with my phone. It tracks steps, notifies with vibrations, and is sufficiently water proof to track my swimming as well!!! I had an early smart watch (BA Before Apple) and found it annoying. Never again!

I started by wearing a Fitbit on my right wrist with a "real" watch on my left. I got hooked on keeping up with friends on the number of steps. A friend convinced me to try an Apple watch when I was going to replace my worn out Fitbit. It's a little larger (I got the 38mm version on purpose), but I found that I liked it. I don't always use it, but do wear it as a second watch especially for workouts and vacations, and more in the summer. I also found that it helps me know when the phone is ringing. My hearing is not great, and having the watch buzzing on my wrist helps when I might not hear my iPhone in my pocket.
