add another scenario:
trade for 5711R, or...
keep 5712, and add 5167R (it really bugs me to pay that much for a rubber strap watch, but i can't get over the stealth of this one)

It sounds like, more than anything, you're itching for a new watch, one way or another! I hear you there, my friend!

I'd hang on to the 5712/1a and figure out what else to add.

I'd keep the 5712 and add a 5167r. I'm contemplating it myself...just need to find the R at the right price because paying over 30k for that is ludicrous

This is a good idea.

Never. 5712/1A is my favorite watch, thus unflippable.

No way, only watch I could let my 5712 go for, of course with cash on top, would be 5711P or 5740, it’s the only 2 I find nicer than the 5712, of course my perfect watch would be a 5712P, not sure it will happen anytime soon or ever...

In theory, I would say go for it. In practice, for me, with my 5712, I just couldn't. I like what you're thinking about adding 5167R. I was there, too — then I switched and picked up a 5164R. It's a slippery slope.

Just walked by the diamond district in nyc en route back to work. Not authorize AD’s. They had a variety of nautilus in window. Got a chance to look at all the variants... came to the conclusion If I owned the 5712/1a is perfect....

I wouldn’t swap it out.

When I picked up my 5726 from my AD, they had a 5711r on display. I tried it on and it was a beauty. Perfect weight and amazing finish. For a moment I thought about it, but decided to stick with the 5726 as an all gold watch didn’t fit my lifestyle. I would still decide the same way today.
