You did the right thing. Who knows it could have even backfired? What if the AD passed you up for the 5711 because they just sold you another Nautilus? Stranger things have happened I’m sure.

My AD "consoled" me with a 5167A when what I really wanted was a 5711. I think by accepting the 5167A, I extended my 5711 wait time by quite a fair bit lol.

This is true and something I do ponder, would make sense to me if I was a rep at an AD. A 5711 comes in, "well, i already got him a 5167a, he can wait a little longer". True indeed.

White dial 5726 is an awesome watch!
But if you really want the 5711 then you did the right thing, and you are a better man than I am, funds permitting I would have jumped on it.

To me 5712 > 5726 bracelet > 5980 > 5726 strap >>>>> 5711
So there you go. |

I also passed on a white dial 5726 a few days ago. I felt like (and still somewhat do) I was making a big mistake based on the popularity of the Nautilus line, but I think that we're in a temporary bubble where the 5726 is only popular because the pricing for 5711s has gone insane, and I wasn't even sure if I really liked it or if I just bought into the hype. Also, I got a few quotes from TS in case I bought it and changed my mind, and all were at or below retail. If we regret passing, my guess is that we will be able to find others at or below retail in the not-too-distant future.
