Excellent list, Paulie. And don't forget:

Why do we press the "up" or "down" elevator buttons when we know that it doesn't make the car arrive any sooner, or the "Walk/Don't Walk" button at a pedestrian crosswalk when it has absolutely no effect whatsoever after the initial press?
