Air King or Submariner Date Steel Gold?
Hey,
I bought a 2016 Rolex Air King from a London AD 2 weeks ago but have now ended up with 4 SS watches - 2 Rolex, Tag Heurer & Raymond Weil. I am thinking of returning the Air King to AD and buy a 40mm Submariner Steel Gold? I have 2 weeks to return but would have to pay about £4900 to get The sub. any advice from you guys? The watches are all below, all collected over the last 30 days. I got the 2018 Oyster Perpetual yesterday from a private seller. |

Air King or Submarine 2 tone
4no in 30 days, Yes in indeed, am slightly OCD, also a marine fish collector and serial car changer😂😂😂.
The Tag and Raymond Weil were much cheaper though, about £1000 each in mint condition, with box and papers, proof of purchase, authenticity everything. The OP was a bargain too as it was about 4months old from AD with everything. The Air King was most expensive, as I bought from the largest AD in London as pre-owned. |

Air King or Submariner 2 tone Date
I want the 2 tone Sub more but it is more e pensive and more dangerous to wear in some parts of London. Quite a few muggings, jackings, murders, etc for flashy Rolex watches.
That’s why I need the Tag and Raymond Weil for the rougher parts of London and other UK cities. |

the tag and RW they are not even in the same class as the other 2 and of those 4 watches the air king is the best
The air king is most likely to go up in value The air king will triple in value once the SCC Bloodhound does the land speed record and goes out of production The Air-King is a bargain price when new as it is a milgauss with a better dial.a better bracelet as not shined centre links and also better hands in that they are Mercedes.. Out of them watches the Air-King is the only proper tool watch ... Personally I would keep the Air-King and give it a chance..it's not as loud as the 2 tone SUB which you are more likely to be done over when wearing How can you part with a watch that is influenced by this The Airking watch cannot be fully understood unless it is worn and only then do you see the dial ..look at the 3 6 9 and it's an hour watch ..look at the 5 10 20 and it's a minute watch..look at it at a different light and the dial becomes 3D it's superb and not understood by people who don't own one |

I would ditch the Air King and buy SS Sub if you want to stay under the radar. TT will draw unwanted attention as you know.

Thanks very much for the advise and the SSC Hound pictures. I attended a seminar about the land speed attempt at the RAF Air Tattoo in Fairford a few years ago. I think I could save a lot of money by keeping the Air King too. It’s just that the TT Blue is a beauty to look at. I love the Mercedes Benz logo, I have an AMG Merc C43S 4 door saloon in black, pic below at RAF Fairford in July 18. |

I think I will keep the Air King, get rid of the TAG and Raymond Weil and save for the Submarine TT.

Wear the Airking..and notice it ..Notice
The matt black dial in the sun The brilliant white of the 5 10 The shine of the 3.6.9 The green of the second hand..which can be bright or dark The yellow of the crown Once you notice this and what I wrote above I am sure you will realise what a great watch you have bought .. You won't have wore it for 10 days give it a chance Then there is the bracelet how it thins on the wrist..the catch ..the matt grey shine .superb The datejust and the Air-King are nice oppositesite.. White..black Batons..numbers Dress...dress sport A nice pair Save for the SUB...diver And you will have a superb Trio of rolex But don't collect too quickly and start to enjoy the watches you have Some collect to quick..then sell..and do not realise what they had ..some go there whole life and never have a rolex...you have 2 Anyone can buy and flip the secret is enjoy what you have..not to try and enjoy what you don't.... |

You have two very similar SS Rolexes there. I would keep one, and ditch the Tag as I'd never wear it over the Rolex. Ditch the RW too as you'll have some bling in the far superior Rolex you're planning on. I would go pre-owned and see what a dealer can do on a 16613 blue if you toss in either the OP or AK, the Tag and RW. Get something sub £50 for throwing at undesirables. That's smartened that up imo.
