Bracelet Stamping Question - Explorer
Hi all.
My Explorer bracelet has V3U stamped on it far to the right of the STEELINOX stamping. Does anyone know what the V3U is? Model number? Serial number? Secret conspiracy code? ![]() Thanks in advance to all who reply. ![]()

It's the clasp code. They're random now like the watch serials, but used to show the year and month a clasp was produced.

We use the codes for "dating", as mentioned.
Practically though, they are likely production codes for quality control and inventory. Coding production batches allows for the manufacture to identify all products produced during that production code run, issues, and how many. Whether we WIS have guessed that certain production codes are actually/accurately dating our pieces is exactly that, guesswork. ![]()

Not surprising. Rolex certainly is not going to bother passing along the info.

It's just the bracelet date code......you used to be able to tell the month & year the bracelet was made (stamped) with an alpha year code (either 1 or 2 characters) followed by 1-12 for the month......eg 2000 was AB so if the bracelet was made and stamped in April 2000 it would have AB4 stamped on it......but it changed to random alpha numeric bracelet codes when the watch serial numbers went random circa 2011.
