I can vouch for that their soft brushes don’t leave marks on even polished gold rolexes. Did you maybe wipe it down with a contaminated cloth afterwards? But getting back to the OP, even with the correct grit sandpaper you won’t get a good result without removing the crystal and polishing with a plain surface.

Funny. Actually, I was interested in what you had to say about WristClean, just not in this thread.
So I searched and found you posted about this 5 years ago. You didn't get much support for your claim that Veraet's cleaning fluid and microfiber cloth scratched your Rolex, and the consensus opinion was that either the cleaning revealed scratches you hadn't seen, or you introduced a contaminant while doing your wipe down. But you didn't want to hear it. Somehow, their non-abrasive spray and super-soft cloth did it. Or maybe it was the super-soft brush which you now mention. How did your 800-grit fiberglass pen work out in 2015? |

It wasn’t scratched as much as it was smoothed by the combination of manual strokes plus the polishing effect of the wrist clean emulsion.

Well, I believe that likely includes some labor costs with taking the bezel off, water testing, etc. I doubt the $790 is just the polish, I never recall it being that high. Scan and post the quote they sent you. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |

Comments like that just aren’t necessary. It’s $800 to polish one spot. It seems excessive. Don’t know why you come on a thread just to make a remark like that.

Yeah. It was $420 for partial service/water testing. Basically to take the watch apart. Fine with that. $370 to refinish brushed surface of the bezel.

I just found it humorous that you tried to cheaply polish your bezel, now you are trying to cheaply fix it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Ruined my new ROC

That seems more in line. Honestly, it is what it is. They have to take it apart, polish the bezel, put it back together properly. That takes some talented and trained person time to do, who they pay. They need to charge you. It's a 24k watch, service on these isn't cheap but this doesn't seem completely unreasonable to me either. It's an AP, gotta pay to play. I have only ever had any of mine polished while being there for service anyhow. You could have lived with it, or just left it the way it was before you did it yourself, and had it addressed while in for standard service. Then the $370 wouldn't have seemed so bad. It seems bad to you now because they have a partial service included, which again makes sense. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |

Sorry, dude. As you broke it down, half of the fee is for taking the watch apart, putting it back together, etc. And I’m pretty sure the polishing isn’t one spot, but on the whole bezel, to insure an even brushing. Check out the AP YouTube channel on how they build/polish a Royal Oak case. |

Back. Fixed. Thanks for all the moral support! Thankfully they were able to just hand refinish the bezel so not much metal gone. Happy Friday!
