Blue Dial Sky-dweller Photos & First Impression

My official incoming post got moved to the open discussion cause I made a joke about the movie My Blue Heaven so I suppose it didn't seem Rolex specific enough lol. Anyhow, I wanted to celebrate the incoming with some more pics I just took and quick review of this amazing watch!

I absolutely love this watch. My dad owns a white dial Sky-D which he never wears, so I'm not unfamiliar with this reference. However, I've never seen the blue dial in person and I get why it's so hyped up. It's incredibly beautiful and varying. Not dissimilar from other blue Rolex sunburst dials, but not exactly the same either.

There's something special about this shade of blue, perhaps it's the contrast of red accents in the dial, or possibly the flat (almost smurf) blue of the 24 hour sub dial. A detail btw I had no idea about until seeing the watch in person. Compared to the white I find it to be a little more versatile actually. It appears dark and black sometimes, other times very vibrant blue and other times navy. Although the white is extradoinary, it's white. It doesn't change the way this one does and IMO is a little more dressy looking. Definitely elegant and stunning but a little less on the sporty side if that makes sense.

The size is amazing. Yes it's pretty big, but relatively thin considering the complications. It wears extremely well and is very comfortable. Is it as comfortable as my daytona or 16710? No. But it has an entirely different set of offerings in both stylistic appearance and functionality.

Admittedly, this watch is not 100% in my comfort zone in terms of style. I'm more of a traditional sports watch guy, but lately have really been feeling like there was a void to fill in my collection. (the DD40 in my signature is long gone btw).

I don't think this watch will be my daily user but not reserved for special occasions either. I strongly believe it could be a keeper for life and a watch I mature with as I get older.

I'm super super excited about it! Here are some pics. Thanks

It's too big for me, but looks just right on you. It's a great complication and super cool piece. Beautiful shots too! Enjoy.

The blue dial is so beautiful and very photogenic. I think the SkyD prolly the best looking sport/dress watch combo from Rolex as of now. Looks great on you btw.

It will be my daily wear for a long time to come. I have owned a few Rolex's and along with my Day Date this is a keeper. As a tool watch it is functional and as a dress watch it is flawless.

Great pics. I had not looked at this watch as a potential for me but these pics have me thinking. I could see this replacing my Sub LB for the blue dial in the set.
What is your wrist size if you don’t mind sharing.
