Bucherer Selfridges

Went into Selfridges today as I had time to kill. Went to the Bucherer concession and saw the bronze blue in the cabinet next to the regular bronze. I asked to look at it and he asked if I am existing client? The watch is only for existing clients so if I'm not one I would have to buy another watch before I could buy the bronze blue. I said thanks no I'm not and walked away, they won't miss me but it's put me off ever buying anything there. Thought that was purely Rolex and PP's game, guess the madness is spreading.

There's a lot of hot money for watches right now so can't blame these guys for wanting to make as much hay as they can while the sun still shines.

No you can't I guess. I understand the game, just won't take part in it. If they actually had something else I wanted I would but not just buy anything for the sake of it.

Think I remember reading somewhere on here, that the watch sales agents work on commission at Selfridges. Guess they are aggressively trying to combine sales to bump up their pay.

If you have the means, make a qualifying purchase and return it later in or the following day.

Nonetheless, it's a matter of time until the bubble bursts. I wonder what it'd take to trigger a crash, that's the mystery. Maybe the world is due another war.

It reminds me of that seen in American Psycho when he tries to make a Dorsia reservation and they just start laughing at him down the phone.

Correct answer would have been,

I exist and I am a client.
