I really like this dial but i am the guy that cares nothing about a Daytona either which makes me one of the few. At the end of the day it cost me 6900.00 for a brand new datejust 41 can’t beat that. If anything someday I might throw a diamond bezel on it for the 2,000 the fluted wood have cost me.
Very nice watch! You got a great deal on it too! I'd definitely jump on a deal like that! Well done! The smooth bezel looks good, but if I had a choice I'd personally go for the fluted. Mainly because I guess it's the classic Rolex style that has been done for years, and I do prefer it more. Is it worth an extra $2K? Definitely not to me. I'm hoping to find a deal like you found on yours!

Thanks for posting pics of your beauty. I've always liked the Wimbledon dial ever since it was released.

Not the best picture but the marker has good color to it as well.

9pm marker is a non-starter for me....

its already out of symmetry with date and cyclops but that is Rolex's main look so i am use to it and is now the norm. Throw in one lume marker at 9pm? i just don't get it at all. it looks weird in daylight. think how really odd it will look when it is lumed at night?

I love mine. There is nothing out of balance with the 9 o'clock bar, in my view. It balances out the date window on the opposite side. The dial is extremely elegant and classic, pictures really don't do it justice.

I love the green on the grey dial. I hate the lack of symmetry. 4 different things at 3,6,9 and 12. Does my head in.

I agree! If I wind up with a DJ in my collection, it would be that one.

Wimbledon dial is great, though what you miss is fluted bezel! That is an awesome combo!

The fluted bezel is spectacular indeed; totally worth the extra cost.

I get why the 9 o'clock lume stick is there functionally, but I think it would bother me in the long term. Otherwise, I really like that dial. If ever the day comes that they tweak the design to replace the lume stick with the roman numeral, I would seriously consider adding.

Just my experience. After wearing mine for one week all I can notice is the Rolex Green Roman numerals on the dial. The color gradient on the numerals is quite ingenious; it almost makes them look like they glow sometimes.

Very nice! Yeah....that fluted bezel gives that little extra "pop" for me. Looks good on the Oyster bracelet too!

I rather like the TT version with this dial, but the 9 o’clock marker has kept me from pulling the trigger. No for me.

This one is available. I love everything about it but not sure about the 9:00 marker. Just seems out of place for me and messes with the layout of the dial.

Wonder what you folks think. Thanks.
It is one of my favorites; without the 9 stick there'd be no ability to read it in the dark.

Agreed. I think the idea was to balance the white in the date window, but it seems to not quite hit the mark in the attempt. The blue stick-dial rocks the DJ though.

Agreed, I love the color scheme of the numerals. Just wish they continued around the entire dial instead of being broken up by the stick at 9 o'clock. Still one of the best DJ 41 dials IMO.

I have the SS DJ41 with the Wimbledon dial. The 9 marker really threw me off at first so I was ready to go silver dial but thought and looked one more time from pictures and then it hit me how well it balances the dial with the date window. It wasn't the safe choice but it was the right choice for me. The dial has too much character to get old and looks better every time I put it on. The slate grey also has a nice sunburst effect.

I'm with you, that marker at 9, is unsightly with that dial and just doesn't look right to me.

Nope, that marker at 9 o'clock would bother me.

Throws off the whole dial IMO.

The white baton at 9 balances the white date wheel at 3. It's a perfect symmetry to me.

It does bother me. BTW.. smooth bezel goes better with oyster bracelet. Jubilee should be accompanied with the fluted bezel.
