Buying Rolex in Paris, Rome, Florence. Advice needed.
Hi Everyone:
Long time lurker here. Im going on a trip to Paris, Rome, Florence, and Venice. Any oficial dealers or independents I should check out? Exchange rate is pretty good at the moment and with a VAT refund it could turn out to be a good deal. Thanks in advance!! Cheers! |

Depends on what you are in the market for... I fly to Europe pretty regularly and SS sports are very elusive these days.. TT and PM on the other hand may turn out to be a nice deal for you to buy while on vacation

Let me share my experience...many months ago I visited several dealers in Rome looking for GMT batman and response was always the same: "your name is added in a waiting list..we'll call you back". Obviously I was never called back
What I learned is that some references are used for their usual customer and never available for tourists Inviato dal mio TA-1021 utilizzando Tapatalk |

Thanks! Ive had several pieces on my mind but will end up depening on which one speaks to me. A BLNR would be great, or a polar explorer. Also a 2 tone sub. Would enjoy a pre owned WG day date as well.

Thinking you should be able to find the Explorer II 42mm and TT Sub.. Drive to a smaller AD, off the beaten path. My experience with those has been for the most part a successful one. Got lucky at family owned ADs in Switzerland too, if you are not driving, you can take the train from Florence to Chiasso/Lugano, roughly 3 1/2 hrs each way on a fast service (Eurocity). Good luck and let us know what you ended up buying!

Was in Florence at the beginning of November and the AD on the bridge with all the gold jewelry stores had a no date Sub in back, not on display

Personally, I would forget watches and just enjoy the trip.

You’d need to rent a car and travel outside the major cities. I went to an AD in froli, they had 2 SubC dates, hulk and Batman, however that was 2017, before the frenzy hit. My only regret is I didn’t buy more

TT Sub Black you have higher chance to find. TT Sub Blue is harder. Explorer 2, Explorer 1 and Milgauss are usually the ones on display |

Yup research all the ADs in smaller towns nearest to those big ones and plan trips to them.
