IWC Pilot 150 years vs Omega Speedmaster Ultraman.

It is possible to buy IWC PILOT 150 YEARS (white lacquer dial, blued hands, LimEd 1000...) and OMEGA SPEEDMASTER ULTRAMAN. Unfortunately, I only have to choose one watch.
What model to give preference?

Thanks.

Ps.
Theoretically, as an option. To sell the BLNR and buy both...?

1) Are you paying above, below, or @ retail for them?

2) Do not sell a BLNR to acquire either of these.

On the surface both of these are just dolled up versions of the regular references.

The Speedmaster is the more recognized and popular reference and will always have timeless appeal. But, Speedys are in big bubble right now, so don't overpay as this will come back to earth..

The IWC looks fantastically great with the white dial, but it will be forgotten in a few years and probably available for a nice discount as time fades the novelty away

Both models are at retail price.

Fleetlord, thank you for your opinion!

I agree completely with Fleetlord. Both of these can be had in their “regular” form for less money. In the case of the Speedmaster, MUCH less money.

Also agree on point #2. It would be absolute madness to sell a BLNR to fund those watches.

But that doesn’t answer your question. Which do I prefer? They’re both so good, and both have great time-tested movements, and both look cool as hell. I’d say it just comes down to which one makes you smile more. I’d probably go with the Ultraman, but only because I tend not to wear white watches.

Ok, the option of selling BLNR is not relevant.

DCheeta, thanks!)

I personally lean towards IWC Pilot 150 Years because of the white color of the dial. I miss the white dial in my collection. And today got a call from the boutique and said about SMP Ultraman.

Yes as mentioned, do not sell the blnr. Both options are fantastic watches but maybe for the same price, you can find the less dolled up form and get both?

CoveWatch, thanks!

I already have a small collection of limited edition Speedy Pro & CK2998. Buy another Speedy LE or not, that's the thing.

My brother has a pilot IWC 150 years, so it is possible to evaluate the watch. And with a Speedy Ultraman is more difficult -- i saw them only in the photo.

I had a chance to try it on a couple months back and it was a really nice piece!

You're the lucky one! Even tried on

I'm still split between IWC and Omega.

Both lovely options - hard to say which one to get, but safe to say whichever you plump for you won’t go wrong.

My personal preference would be for the IWC, but that’s brand driven not the watch.

Have you tried on the IWC? Looks like it will wear significantly bigger than the omega. On the other hand you have two speedies already so maybe a third will be redundant ... but could always sell one of the others. Definitely do NOT sell the blnr for either of these.

No, no, no, BLNR will stay!

Speedmaster promise in January-February. But promises are not always kept... I'll probably buy an IWC watch. They're in reserve at the boutique.
