SBDC053 Avail in USA?
Am I correct that SBDC053 is not available for sale in the US? (If not, why won't they bring it here???) I think I will really like the watch, however, I have read reviews that complain about its finish--such as chapter ring alignment. I would love to be able to see and try on before buying. Does anyone know of any US bricks and mortars stores that have this watch?
Is there another US-spec similar Seiko dive watch that would fit the bill on size, blue dial, and rubber strap? That watch with the 6-series movement for about $600 seems like a good deal. https://www.discountshop.com/Seiko-P...SABEgL7QPD_BwE |

I purchased mine from a US AD and it is a great watch and a lot of fun to wear.

Ugh....I was looking at the Japanese model number!
Thanks, guys, for setting me straight. It is interesting that the Jap version is available for as little as $541. While the US version is available for about $791ll And one website says MSRP is $1110. I'm not sure thats right. |

I was looking at grey market. Some selling the Japanese version. Some selling the US version. The Japanese version was much more available. And much cheaper.

So you have to be okay with taking the lowest price with the thought that you might get stuck with something that isn't to your liking. |

I got one recently too, second hand.
I haven’t taken it off since! It’s an amazing piece really. Shames most of the other brands we typically discuss around here. I’m thinking of putting my blue isofrane on it. |

There are better options than the Iso. One thing is the stock Seiko spring bars will not fit in the straps. So you need a thinner version with the stock tips like the Seiko bars.

I already have the 2.0 bars in my Isofrane.
Yes it’s snug, but I didn’t need any special tools to get them in. Probably better than loose anyway. |

Good deal. Just make sure the ends of the spring bars still have free movement. Back before I understood there were different sizes of spring bars I had forced some stock Fat bars into and Iso and later that day my strap disengaged. The rubber strap was so tight on the end of the springs bars it wouldn't let it work correctly.

No, it’s good.
The outer sleeve sits flush with the rubber and the pins move freely. It was in use for a while this way and no problems. |
