First Trip with the Explorer

First trip with the explorer using the GMT function 👍
It’s so easy to use and the orange hand stands out so well!

Glad I decided to bring it instead of my sub. The explorer is my everyday watch so it was hard not to bring the sub on holiday. I’d like to wear my sub every day but working in the pub industry i need something that can take a lot of knocks and the explorer has a good strong bezel!

Great watch! Is the bezel built into the case on the Explorer II or can it be removed?

Excellent choice for your travel! I know how hard it is to pick between watches, especially if you have one that doesn't get as much wrist time :(

But I think you made the right call. Also, great call with the pub-environment. Explorer II has an amazingly robust bezel.

Don't quote me on this but I'm pretty certain it can be removed. I know that Rolex can replace them, but I'm not sure if it can be removed easily at home. My guess would be probably.

It is deffinatly hard to choose. I have been so close to wearing the sub at work at times but I know it will get knocked so i have managed to avoid it.

I’m also interested to know about the bezel as I may like to replace it one day when it is covered in scratches.

I always wear my Explorer II when I travel. Can't beat the ease of changing the hour with the jump function.

Great watch. Thinking about this as a next piece. Stuck between white or black face

My Explorer II is my go watch when I travel -- with one exception, this March wife and I are taking a cruise to South America spending several days in Brazil, so I will keep the Explorer II in the watch winder and take a less obvious watch, perhaps my JLC thin date.

I love my Explorer II. Great for travel and always on hand for my pub industry work. It's not high risk though as I'm only lifting a couple pints.

I came close to selling this piece many times, but I am glad I kept it.

Explorer II 42 is probably the best all around watch Rolex offers. I continue to be impressed by this watch. Regret getting rid of mine years ago. Likely will get one in 2019!
