Battle of the Black Bays

Hey guys,

I’m looking for a casual piece to wear and give my beloved sub some oxygen. Been wanting for a while a piece that plays around well with leather like suede or something on the casual side of leather, no aligator. Also want something under 40mm, as it will make it easier and more versatile. So which would you pair with a SubC Date?

BB58 - I love this watch ever since it was announced, proportions are right but I have a small doubt that it will be a bit redundant with my Submariner.

BB36 - Love the clean dial, great size, I did try it on last year and it felt amazing. (Here’s a pic). Reminds me of a modern 1016.

Thanks!

I'd go with the BB36 with the blue dial to pair with your SubC

I’m an original black bay fan. But I like all of them. You can’t go wrong.

I've got the BB58 on bracelet and 14060M. BB58 during the week, Rolex on weekends. Love them both. The BB58 is actually fancier.

Both are nice, but probably would go with BB58

I would see what other black bay options upcoming @ Basel. Between these 2, I would pick the 58 if you're ok with the color scheme....I saw the smaller 36mm black bays but I happen to think those snowflake hands are too clunky for those proportions. I still prefer the original ETAs overall as a complete package.

The BB36 has appealed to me since its release. Simple yet sporty. Haven’t tried one one yet though.

I like the BB58 option...not at all redundant with the sub, IMO. Slightly smaller case, snowflake hands, gilt dial, no date...yeah, I think that works.

Not a fan of the 36, sorry.

Thanks all for the responses. I might just wait to see what Tudor has for Basel, at least those are going to be easier to purchase.
