Icon17 Guys, Need Advice on Yachmaster Bezel

Hi everybody,

I have been a regular forum reader for about 2 years. But I think this is the first time I post a message. I need your advice in order to return my yachtmaster bezel to its original condition (blasted surface). I've got my 2 tone midsize yachmaster from my father. But accidentally he had polished the bezel that it lost its blasted surface now.

RSC in Jakarta adviced me to replace the bezel, but the price is about USD 1,300,- and for me it's not reasonable. So if anybody know how to get the blasted surface back, or to get a more reasonable price for original bezel replacement please let me know. Thank you very much for your advice.

Best Regards,

Syahril TAHER

Would have thought any good goldsmith could return the bezel [as you say]to the blasted surface, with the bezel off the watch.Myself spent a few years in Indonesia, mainly Bali and there, the goldsmiths were excellent. If watch is due for a service it would be brought back to original spec.

How long has it been since the last service? I see the watch is an older model as it has a Tritium dial, so if it's due for a service, they will bring the bezel back as part of the service. Mine was in a similar state when I bought it, and was brought back to the proper look during servicing at RSC in Toronto.

Hi Syahril,

Welcome to TRF. Beautiful watch you've got there. As the guys have already advised, a fresh service at any RSC should bring everything back to specs. I think that bezel can be polished off to bring back its original lustre.
