Does size really matter...??

Greetings all.

I just purchased and received my first Rolex, an Explorer II....

Actually let me give you some quick background info. Though I do not have large wrists, I have been wearing nothing but a 44mm Panerai 111 for the last couple years. Before that I wore a 42mm Omega Aqua Terra.

Ok, back to the Rolex. I am wearing it as I type right now and my eyes can't seem to adjust to the smaller size (I realize it has only been on the wrist for a couple of hours!!). It almost looks like I am wearing a ladies size watch. No offense to the ladies of course.

Has anyone else experienced this? Please tell me that I am suffering from some rare form of premature exaggeration size deficiency and that I will get used to the smaller size quickly and not be bothered by it.

Hopefully some of the Rolex/Paneristi here can relate?

Cheers.

Josh

Well, if you've been wearing a 111 for a couple of years, you'll need more than a couple of hours to get used to the expy II.

The expy II does wear smaller than any of the other Rolex sport models, unless you count the original explorer.

I own a various sizes and I have no issue with it at all. Give yourself a little more time. Flipping is EXPENSIVE.

I have
sub and gmt iic - 40mm
seiko skx007j - 42mm
RWC 1938a - 45mm
Pam 111G - 44mm

All wear fine on my 6.5" wrist.

How about some pics of the expy ii? Black/White? Looks real good on a nato or leather if you ask me.

I think yes. But Rolex look so perfect in 40mm and Pannie in 44mm or 45mm.

Time and time give it some time, I usually like watches that are 44mm which I own a few, when I wear my Submariner if feels a little small for a little be but them is ok.

I am going to be straight and to the point here,on this one.I think its a fair reflection, seeing where I come from (Rolex) to being where I am now (Panerai). After I bought my 104,I still had my whole Rolex collection.I found myself forced to wear the Rollies and after a while found that I only whore the 104.
The Rollies just did not feel right and look right anymore .... I found myself hunting to see the time. The bracelet and casing just felt like toys.... and I am talking some "bigshot" Rolex models. That was it .... Panerai models followed, funded by the selling of the Rolex collection.

Panerai,it is for me.That bold, stylish, simplicity just tickles my senses !!!

+1 I still will occasionally wear a daytona but I wear my PAMs the vast majority of the time. I just like the larger watches and almost purchased the AP Arnolds All Stars but decide to wait.

I decide each morning what watch I will wear that day and they vary in size from 36mm up to 44mm. Takes next to no time to adjust and I like to mix it up.
