Proposing in a public place???

This past W-E i was eating dinner with members of the Mustang club when some 25 year old kid gets the P.A. system in Pappadeaux's seafood and starts this stuff about his girl is the love of his life and he wants to spend the rest of his life with her.....well everybody starts to clap and cheer him on. It was the first place he took her on a date 14 months before. Well it did not go like he planned the girl started to cry all right....right up to when she slapped him and ran out. Oh and tossed the ring on the floor on the way out. I felt sorry for the kid but as some member pointed out most women want to be in a private location etc...I was thinking the added pressure of all the people clapping and cheering may hurt also. I saw another guy propose in a casino in Laughlin NV years ago had better luck.....Before I would try to propose in a public place i would be sure she would say yes first.

If he didn't know this would horrify her then they were not meant to be, I suspect the proposal was more about him and he'll be doing these Hollywood shows many times.

The slap seems a bit excessive, I’d say.

100%.

this social media-selfie-FB-IG culture that young people are growing up in spawns this immature self-aggrandizing behavior. people feel compelled to make public spectacles of themselves whether it's having a simple designer coffee right up to major life events.

remember when women wanted their boyfriends to propose? Now they have placeholder boyfriends to enhance their instagram photos, as they troll tinder trying to find a richer guy

If the genders were reversed, this would be an automatic assault charge.
