126234 - thoughts on pricing and size?
Hey guys, wanted to hear your thoughts on the new 126234 regarding pricing and size.
Now that these new Datejusts are starting to roll into ADs, do you predict resale prices will be lower or higher in the near future? Part of me wants to pay retail for the sake of instant gratification and the other part tells me to wait a few months and buy lightly used. Separately, for those who have seen or currently own the new model, how does the size compare to the previous 116234? I'm aware the lugs have been slimmed to make the case appear larger (I may be wrong) but are there any differences in case thickness and lug to lug height? My 116234 was one of my favorite watches but I found myself wanting something more substantial without going to DJ41 territory. Looking forward to your input! |

I'm waiting on my 126234 from my AD and have no idea about future pricing but can say that there are currently 3-4 sitting my AD's display case. Certainly not moving anywhere near as fast as SS models.
Regarding sizing, the 126234 feels substantially smaller, in my opinion, than the 116234. I actually like the smaller feel and always felt that the prior model never "felt" like a true 36mm watch on the wrist, mainly due to the giant lugs. |

I have just received the 2019 blue azure dj41 fluted bazel on jubilee and roman numerals. being my first DJ after having over 10 Rolex & AP, I was skeptical and took some time to pull the trigger, exactly for what you mentioned and not sure about DJ as an addition to my collection, but I have to say that no regrets and it just looks stunning. So again, it depends on what you, what you are aiming for and what motivates you to buy your timepiece..

My first Rolex and first 36. Initially thought it was too small on my 7.5" wrist but it is so comfortable that I'm willing to compromise. And after doing a bit of research I've come to find that 36 is the "perfect" size for most wrists.
