abi

I have a watch for sale here and the other day I got an inquiry from abi. It seemed to be a little bit oddly presented, I responded maybe twice, and when I received the exact same reply a few times, I just stopped interacting.

Perhaps coincidentally, I then received a paypal invoice for some kind of item, I of course declined and hope this is the end of it.

I went back and looked up abi and saw he had interacted at times, often with a "congratulations" on a user's purchase.

I was away for the holiday weekend and thought I'd send a note when I got back, I suspect he was hacked here. I now see he is banned, so I guess whoever it was behind this, responded to several forum members.

Unfortunate that this happened, but it seems to now be a case of no harm, no foul, and a reminder to be careful.

Hey I've received a bunch of these types of msgs as well. I've basically given up on the WTB section. Too many scams. You'll notice all these guys are just posting short quick notes like congrats or hello just to satisfy the count requirement. Don't fall for this. Basically if they don't wanna go with PayPal just don't do it. You'll save thousands

this was a for sale ad, but yes, my insructions were not being followed. It never got to the pay part. I just hope it is over with and I don't start getting a whole lot of spam, scam stuff since my email address is now in someone's hands...

evidently someone beat me to it, he was banned from the site, so they tried this on a few forum sellers besides myself.
