Losing time
Is it possible for the grease in the mainspring/barrel to congeal over time and cause sticking points where the watch will lose time? If I wind my watch upon waking every day it will not lose time. If I depend on self winding it will lose roughly a minute a day. I have determined the movement itself shouldn't be the issue if winding daily keeps perfect time. This has been a daily wearer for almost 10 years.

Sounds like it's time for a service, as yes after about 10 years oils and whatnot may be less effective.
