Patek AD waitlist question 5167A

What’s the waitlist for a 5167A, do people get laughed at for asking an AD for this watch?

Unless you have purchase history with an AD its a slim to nil chance of getting a 5167a.

usually they wait until you leave and then make fun of you behind your back and in front of the customers still in the store. Then everyone has a good laugh. If you ever do a u-turn and go back inside and it feels like everyone is sharing an inside joke. .... its you

Very difficult to acquire. My AD is being allocated one this year.

Its a long list I guess if you have no purchase history. Hopefully, no one is ever laughed at for wanting to be a customer.

Thanks for your feedback.

I’ve developed a slight relationship with a guy at a local AD. I haven’t bought from him yet and he wasn’t even able to get me a Tudor 58 lol. But I might give him a call and see what he says about the 5167A. If he puts my name on a list I’ll consider it a win. If not I may ask about what other sports models he might have in or be able to get. They carry Patek, ALS, Rolex and Tudor. I’m looking for a diver on rubber, AP Diver is awesome and good be an option.

Resale is now more than double retail so you can do the wait maths. AP Diver is a much better bet.

I would not consider the 5167 a diver in spite of its 120mm WR. Patek advises if you submerge the watch to have it pressure checked annually. I think of it as dress watch on a rubber strap and nothing more. For robust wet activities I would look for something else. It is really hand to beat Rolex Subs and there are great after market rubber strap options. Sadly, these are tough to get now also but should be easier than the Patek.

I’m going to give everyone looking some advice.... you want a 5167 . Go package it with a $50k patek...you can negotiate that just fine if you really want one.

Agreed it’s not a diver, didn’t mean to imply that. My wrist never goes past a few feet under water and that’s rare. As for the sub I owned and sold a 114060, I’d probably enjoy a 5 digit more, but I’ve lost most of my interest in Rolex at the moment.

its probably going to take more than that... however a package is going to have to be both a watch you like AND a watch they have trouble selling. IE you do them a favor and they do you a favor.

It is akin to walking into a rolex AD and asking for a white daytona

5167 is my 1st watch at Patek, and 1st watch in Patek Salon.
So if the feeling is good with your AD, you can try ;)

I would make sure you try on a ROO before deciding on it , if you are deciding between it and trying for a 5167 as they are vastly different sizes .... 5167 to some may wear small - for my 6.75 inch wrist it wears perfectly, whereas if I am being honest with myself , my wrist can’t pull off a ROO comfortably.

With regard to a potential PP bundle- if you are in a populated locale, this likely wouldn’t work . If a $50k purchase just gets you on “the list” , you may still be waiting a while . For $50k non-sports PP, I agree w looking at an AC such as the 5205g , or if you need a dressier watch, the 5227r.

As other had mention & I had mention before in my old post..^^^...

No offense to the OP..... The truth hurt........

You got to ask yourself are you special......??

Meaning why an AD should sell you a desirable piece.....

Just go gray or look for something else besides the 5167...

Would someone be able to tell me about the AP I posted on here from crown and caliber? I understand they only sell new? Is this a current AP model? I don’t see a white dial black strap on their site.
