Has anyone serviced an Aquanaut?
I am so sorry if this has been well covered (and I fear it has), but I could not find the answer from a search.
Has anyone had an Aquanaut serviced and, in particular, I am wondering what condition the bezel returns in? Do they look to polish out the scratches from the bezel, will they replace the bezel? Or do they just service the watch itself and leave anything cosmetic well alone? Has anyone got any pre and post photos? (I guess if someone has been through this with a 5711 or similar, that would be just the same).

I've had an aquanaut serviced twice, 1st time it came back with all my dings and scratches
2nd time I asked for a valet, and it came back clean crisp and mint, and then I traded up |

Thanks Aquaman. So you have to specifically ask for the extra valet? That is not standard with the Patek service?

You have to ask and pay, its actually not that expensive and they replace the rubber strap at the same time so good value in my book,
. U just have to decide whether u want the polished look or not as everyone disagrees over it Heads up they only recommend your watch has 3 polishes in it, so that might make u think also |

I’ve had serviced twice. Once polished once not. I prefer the watch I got back polished 100%.

I have read and seen diagrams that show the bezel is replaceable on a Nautilus but cannot find the answer for an Aquanaut.

I’m 90% sure they can replace on 5711. But they can laser fill really deep cuts so I’ve been shocked by what they can fix without replacing.

What would they do with the watch that has been polished more than 3 times until it is out of shape? Would they require a new case and bezel replacement? If they would, how much would that cost for the new case? Anyone has an experience?

i swear i read that somewhere, but would love to know for sure. so basically they look similar but they are different. No idea if the bezel comes off. You would think it does if the case has 3 pieces.

https://thewatchlounge.com/patek-phi...ew-with-price/ However I have read and seen the Nautilus as a 3 piece construction too. https://monochrome-watches.com/histo...712-5980-5990/ I wish I could find out and get a proper answer haha

Aquanaut is a two piece case !!! For sure. Bezel part go the middle case then you have the screw in back. Google technical drawing of aquanaut case.

The €16k was charged for a 3700 with bracelet ,i guess the 5xxx serie must be similar but an Aqua definetly cost less , afaik a new bracelet is something like €4k and a new bezel for a Nautilus is about €2.5k. Thanks for the pic have you acquired from PP or juat found online?

When you give a watch for service, they’ll give you a laundry list of to do-items. Some are optional, one of which is the polishing of the case. In the case of the Aquanaut, they’ll replace the strap as part of the base service cost. Or at least they do on 506x models.
For the record, I’ve got a crazy beat up 5066 and there is no way I would ever let them polish it... EDIT: Pulled this out of the archives. This is what you can expect. |

The rotor came off.
I didn’t let them replace the tritium. I like the milky brown texture too much. I only did the standard service, rotor replacement and new crystal. I’ve owned this, and all my watches, from new and I like them to tell the story of their life with me. Every nick and bump is a memory... |
