Way I see it, you got 2 options...

Beautiful... Love the dial color... Blue... And WG bezel...

Your dial looks a different shade then the Rolex site. Guess it depends on the light?

Don't hesitate to check out some 5-digit options. You may find you like them, though obviously 36mm is a lot smaller than 41mm.

The Datejust is "dressier" by nature, but you can wear it with anything.

Based on your comments I would recommend the Oyster bracelet, jubilee is dressier in my mind.

Have you seen the blue dial version of the OP 39? That is even sportier being fully brushed.

You can wear any modern Datejust with whatever you want, especially the 41 which makes it a sportier watch. Oyster vs. jubilee is up to personal preference but honestly if I wanted a 41mm DJ on an Oyster, I would pick up a new or mint condition DJ2 and save money. The jubilee is what makes the DJ41 special since it was never an option on the DJ2.

Agree that a DJ can be worn with anything - not just the modern ones. Any vintage DJ or 5-digit DJ would be just as good.

I bought the DJ41 because of the new Jubilee, which has an easylink.

Personally....no easylink, no Jubilee....no Jubilee, no DJ41.

Love the DJ 41. Many reasons to recommend it.

I have a DJII in black, oyster band, smooth bezel. It doesn't have the new movement that the DJ41 has, but has a sportier look (some don't like it) due to its dial and size. I bring it up because for your purposes, you might want to check out a DJII (trusted resellers a good way to find one). A slightly different look that you might end up preferring.

Oyster will wear... horribly. It'll get all scratched up in no time. I know from experience of just 4 weeks wearing one! But 15 years wearing a jubilee daily showed no scratches. The small round links are the clever bit here.

Similarly, smooth bezel will wear... horribly. It'll get all scratched up in no time. Fluted, after 15 years wear showed no marks whatsoever.

Plus... fluted/jubilee is the classic combo.

I have worn it to work while wearing scrubs and I wear it with suits as well as everything in between. It works with anything. Jubilee bracelet is awesome as it is adjustable, you can wear it right or loose.

Wasn't aware that the Wimbledon dial was available with a fluted bezel on the 41. I think this is the best TT configuration apart from the RG/chocolate dial.

I had to go TT after being underwhelmed switching from TT DJ36 to SS Sub 16610. Missed the bling!

RG wasn't for me but the Wimbledon sung!

It sings to me too! It was my favorite out of the DJ2s but this version on a jubilee looks even better! There's just something elegant about the slate dial combined with Rolex green romans.

I went for the casual combination. Nice thing about the DJ41 is the range of options. Wears similar to Explorer and Daytona.

My dial is Rhodium not blue! I love the blue but rhodium
Is just more versatile if I am wearing grey, blue or black suits.

I may be writing my dissent here.

Most people subscribe to the theory that you can’t dress things up, but you can dress things down. So to them, the idea of a Submariner with a suit, for example, is repugnant, but something like a two hand MontBlanc watch with jeans and a t-shirt is fine. That’s not how I feel. I think it’s easier to make something go up a bit on the dressiness scale than to go way down. If you put on, say, some precious metal dress watch to wear with your shorts and t-shirt, I think you’d look a bit off. Not quite ridiculous, since it is just a watch, it it wouldn’t look right. Just as you wouldn’t wear an expensive pair of patent leather tuxedo shoes with shorts, but it’s now acceptable to wear brogues with a suit, a Datejust in its most formal permutation would look just as out of place with your jeans as would those shiny black Jimmy Choos. If you really want the watch, I suggest a smooth bezel and an oyster bracelet. Fluted and jubilee is very dressy. Smooth/oyster would look less out of place.

I didn't even finish reading past what I quoted above.

Buy the blue dial DJ41 with domed bezel on an oyster bracelet and brush out the PCLs! That's what I'm thinking about doing.

Very interesting.

Does anyone else have a similar experience when comparing wearing oyster to jubilee and fluted to domed?

I'm 34 and looking at the DJ41 - fluted with blue dial on oyster. I've also toiled over the question of what I could wear it with. The answer is that on the oyster you could pretty much wear with whatever (beach wear possibly being the exception). Jubilee (although incredible) wouldn't feel right to me and would be overly flashy with fluted bezel. They look amazing but I couldn't pull it off.

So go blue, fluted on oyster and don't worry too much about it. For me it would sit inbetween a sub and a more dressy watch on leather. Call it smart casual if you will.

I wouldn't worry about the PCLs. I never see anyone hesitating to buy a Daytona or Skydweller because they're on PCLs. For some reason though everyone thinks it's a problem for GMTs and DJ41s.
