Both nice, I think I prefer the smooth/jubilee combination. more versatile and comfy on the wrist

I may just got with the polished bezel for the difference. I do agree a fluted bezel on a datejust is very attractive but not sure I'd shell out the extra bucks for it.
How you can worry about a couple thousand when buying a Rolex?

Lol resurrected a post from 3.5 years ago. It’s more of if I had the option between both - it’s a do I see the value in spending the extra money? To this day I don’t love the flutted bezel enough on that model to pay for it. It’s really not about the couple thousand - it’s a do I feel I’m getting my moneys worth.

There’s things I see the value in - example I sourced a super jubilee bracelet for my Black Ceramic Daytona - such an add to the watch in my opinion and worth every penny.

Fluted if you want a jewelry piece

Smooth if you want a sports watch

Fluted + jubilee is nice but it is SO shiny. You can see it from across the room. Some people like that. Some people don't.

This.
And to me smooth just looks unfinished, like they forgot to put the bezel on.

Fluted, jubilee or oyster. Plenty of other options for smooth - OP, AK, Exp & Milgauss.

Smooth with oyster. Can be dressy or sporty. Fluted bezel can not pull that off

Fluted Jubilee. Had both.

Even swapped the jubilee from the WG Fluted on the Smooth bezel....no go for me.

Sold the Smooth/Oyster 2 weeks ago. Never looked back.

Back to this....

I’d go with smooth. IMO a smooth bezel gives the watch a “cleaner” look.

I went for the dj 36mm smooth and oyster

Jubilee and fluted is way too flash for daily wear and the jubilee looked tacky
