datejust 41 - fluted or smooth ?

I was looking at this watch with a blue face - lovely!!

The fluted looks smarter but also more flash so slightly more self-conscious on holiday but better at work :)

I wonder, does the fluted bezel get scratched, or perhaps another question, does it show scratches ?

One of the issues I have with smooth bezel watches is how scratched they get so quickly

What do you guys think ?

if money isn't the issue get the fluted , doesn't show scratches as easily.

I am in the market for a DJ as well. Definitely fluted.

Smooth looks too plain for me.

I've had both.....and like them both equally. To me, the smooth bezel looks cleaner and more modern. The fluted is more traditional, more 'bling' and , thus, a bit more glamorous.
Can't go wrong with either.

Jubilee bracelet = Fluted bezel

Oyster Bracelet = Smooth Bezel

pretty decisive. I agree with peterskinner
not sure about jubilee bracelet with the fluted bezel (or any bezel). I think the smooth one balances it out nicely

Fluted, definitely.

When I decided on the DJ41, I spent a long time looking at both. No offense to the smooth, they are beautiful watches, but to me, the smooth just seemed... incomplete.

Think the first combo is too flashy and the second is too plain.

I’d switch up the and try fluted with oyster and smooth with jubilee. I went for the second combo :)

Fluted. Looks better in my opinion and yes it'll show far less scratches.

I really like the value proposition that the smooth bezel DJ41 provides over the OP39, especially with the jubliee bracelet which can't be had (as far as I know) on the OP's. So you get the date complication, the jubilee, and the better movement on the DJ41 with smooth bezel for not much more money. Once you select the fluted bezel option, however, the price tag jumps a little bit. So for value, smooth on jubilee is great. For maximum enjoyment if that price jump doesn't hurt, fluted on jubilee.

I personally like fluted better. One of my favorite things about the DJ is that you can choose bracelet, bezel and dial and no combination looks bad, it’s just a matter of what you like best.
