Is a 14060M OK as a daily wear?

Hi all,

I've been wearing my 114060 for over 2 years now non-stop and I love it. However I've always lusted after a 14060 - the two liner with the lug holes. A local dealer has just listed a 'pristine' example for a fair price and I want it! Now the hard part - is this a watch that needs to be babied as a collectable, or can I actually wear this watch on a day to day basis? Can I add this to my collection and give it serious wrist time? I don't think I'm quite up to the stage where I can buy a watch but not wear it!
Thanks in advance

My 16610 (2001 P serial, lugholes and SELs) has been worn daily for nine years, and intermittently for another seven. It still looks new.

I've never heard of anyone babying a modern steel Rolex sports watch. These things are not rare, not collectable, and are not fragile.

Great choice, go for it!

PS, here's my 5513, now that is a different proposition!

I 100% agree ... perfect daily beater I would say and yes, my 5513 from 1968 also gets babied and spends a lot of time in the safe. Sad. When I think about it.

The only thing that may not hold up as well is the bracelet and that's a big maybe... with its smaller presence and lighter weight it's less susceptible to you banging it around. Go for it!

I wear my 14060M all the time and it has the battle scars to prove it.

Sure, it's a tool watch so you aren't going to hurt it unless you destroy it intentionally.

It's probably the ULTIMATE daily wearer. No need to baby. They made gazillions of them!

A 14060M is a long way from a delicate "collectible". It is as close to a daily wear watch as you can get; I have one on right now.

Yes, it's pretty much the definition of a beater, and at least 20 years away from being possibly a collectable.

It is a good idea but in reality I prefer the glidelock clasp on the 114060 which makes it a more comfortable.

It was born to be a daily wear.
Not even a moments hesitation.

I wore mine daily for 5 years and intermittently for the last three...and it's still rock solid. Go for it.

I agree. The 14060M is a great daily wear watch. I rotate it with my Sea Dweller 16600 during the work week.

The 14060 is far longer proven than the 114060. Personally it is the correct modern no date sub due to the dimensions and proportions of the lugs. It is far more comfortable on the wrist and the 2 liner is just so clean. I'd say if you got the itch go for it, you won't be sorry.

If not the absolute best daily wearer it's certainly on the short list!

I still have an F serial 14060M that I wore literally every single day despite having 5 (at the time) other Rolex watches....I wore that beast for 7 years straight and it NEVER missed a beat....one of my all time favorite references and always will be....don't even think twice about whether you should or shouldn't wear it every day....the watch is a tank on every level and can take whatever you can throw at it GUARANTEED....my 14060M is now retired and rarely gets wrist time but I can't part with it as it was my first diver. I'll break her out occasionally....I got her serviced and put her away in the safe....My new go anywhere do absolutely ANYTHING beast is my 116600....I wear a Rolex literally levers single day and out of my collection of 9 Rolex' and 2 Omegas....If I'm doing anything that I'm even going to remotely question...I go with the SD hands down ALWAYS....these watches we're designed to do far more than we can throw at them...You are wearing one of the best built if not THE best built Swiss made Rolex watches of all time my friend....wear it with pride and to hell with what everyone else thinks

My 14060 is my daily wear. I love the two line sub with lug holes. I say go for it!

Flipped my 114060. Prefer the 14060 - more my style and size. Daily wearer?? Absolutely!

IMO, the quintessential daily wearer. My Y-series 14060m has been my daily choice for nearly 15 years straight. Wouldn't choose another!

I can't imagine owning both a 114060 and a 14060 and ever wearing the 5 digit sub. If you want a 5 digit I'd get a GMT or EXP II.
