Many watches would look better with no logos at all. A 5711 with no "Patek Philippe" and no date would look awesome! The rotor you can see through the sapphire back already has Patek on it.

After all, Tiffany makes nice jewelry but they don't put their logo in a visible place. At least not on the fanciest stuff. So I don't see why watchmakers do it. Rolex (and I like Rolex) is one of the worst offenders, putting the crown logo, "Rolex", and lots of text all over the faces. Why?

I was in Tiffany NYC last Dec. They've pretty nice collection. And yes I'd buy a PP watch with Tiffany stamp on dial. Feel its something special.

Besides, even with the small t&co stamp any patek has less writing than your average rolex on a dial, so i don't see what the problem is.

I'm a fan.... Typically I'm not of most co-branded things, but I like it with Tiffany. Mainly because it has been done for such a long time.

For watches that have a waiting list at most dealers they typically won't discount big anyway so if the stamp may assist with future value I see the merit. I am into it. Then you factor in the history between the brands and it gets better to me.

To say Tiffany sells necklaces to my wife is shortsighted. Tiffany has a rich history not only with Patek but also selling home goods, men's desk items, a variety really. They are a jewelry company first and foremost granted... But ultimately it would to me be like saying why would I buy a Louis Vuitton duffle bag they sell purses to my wife. Of course they do they may be primarily known for that but the line and the history extends beyond that...

I honestly think its a major turn on and they dont cost an extra crazy amount more just the full retail price on some models

The branded ones cost more...

And Comex is not truly a case of co-branding. These are pieces made specifically for Comex employees.

Finally, call me macho if you want, but i would much rather be "associated" to a company which has been a pionner in commercial diving (which is relevant for a diver watch), than to a company which is selling rings and necklaces to my wife.
I prefer the normal dial, not with "comex" on it

So better for resale?

Were these made in a known limited number? How many 5712's with Tiffany stamp were made?

Better for resale although you're likely paying the difference up front or more.

Numbers made is only known by patek and tiffany and I doubt they are tellin!

Even though resale may be higher with the Tiffany logo you have to pay more up front and when you sell the pool of potential buyers is a lot less, some don't want to pay the premium, and some like the watch but not the logo.

I like Tiffany, have a strong history esp as silversmiths, I see a lot of their fine 19th C pieces at auction.

It doesn't bother me that much, but I would rather just not have it on the dial (especially if it affects the price).

Didn't care much for it two years ago when this thread started and haven't changed my opinion.

Don't like co-branding, and categorize it along with any other superfluous dial writing. It detracts rather than adds to the dial IMO.

Agree and I'd like to hear why people like it and how the dial looks better with it.

It's a mere exclusivity game. Nothing more, nothing less. Btw I agree dials looks cleaner without but it's one of those things in the watch collecting world to chase exclusivity.
