Have to agree myself just used plain soap and water over the past 40 odd years of wearing Rolex watches. Thats all any Rolex needs rinse after under clean running water, if needed just dry in any clean lint free cotton type cloth.A few of my watches are now well over 20 years old, two used as working tools with well over 600 hours underwater both salt and fresh. When working on the liveaboard dive boats they were lucky if they got a swill in cold bottled water after 2 weeks of diving sometimes 3 times each day.All I have ever used is plain soap and water and just normal routine service to keep all my watches looking as almost new.

Things have changed a lot.
Typical TRF member answer some years ago,
Wash it with soap and water, rinse, put it back in your wrist and enjoy that beautiful timepiece.
Typical TFR member answer today,
Wash it with filtered cold water and baby shampoo, do not use any soft brush or any other thing because it will diminish the resale value of the piece. Will be better if you don't use your watch at all, keep it in the safe with all papers and boxes, don't forget the white tag (it will increase the price by a lot) BTW, how much do you think this SS watch could be worth the next year?
Pathetic!!

If you mean Zeiss wipes, they're fine yet personally just take a shower and wipe with towel (or microfiber cloth) and you're fine. Use toothbrush and liquid soap if you need to get into nooks and crannies.

I've used many different methods, but found WristClean to be the best clean in the least amount of time. The watch even feels different afterwards.

When I do have some time, I like to put the bracelet in an ultrasonic cleaner to help loosen up the grime. Intrigued by the hot steam method for a deeper clean. I'll probably have to try it as handheld steam cleaners can be had for not much money and can be used for various household cleaning.

Wowzers.

LOL.

My submariner states that it is good to 1000ft/330m. I think it can handle the shower on a daily basis.

Luckily, I don't have to bother thinking about it. I wear a Rolex.

Diluted Dawn dish soap and water. I clean my hands, glasses and watches daily with the cheap and effective mix because I make up a pump of the mix and leave it by the sink. 30 years of cleaning like this and it’s still the best.
The only issue is my wife sometimes wants to replace my dawn/water pump with a soft soap for hands. I tried soft soap and it leaves a soap film.

You guys are all crazy!

How can you wash a Rolex with such mundane and harmful products???

Aren't you scared you will damage your pride and joy???

For my cleaning, I use Perrier Mineral water, I find that the bubbles give watch a mild jaccuzzi and it ends up running more smoothly.

To dry, I use kitten skin clothes, best ones I find are british shorthair at no more than 3weeks old.

I do this after every time I wear my Rolex or even handle it.

These posts about how to wash your watch... It is a watch, not a newborn. Just use common sense, like you did to when you made the money to buy it

I also wear mine in the shower, so it's never really dirty. But that's not so much intentional as it's simply that I never take it off except when I sleep at night.

Occasionally, I will put my Sub in an ultrasonic cleaner with a mixture of water and jewelry cleaner - but that's maybe once a year. It's more beneficial for jewelry that gets worn constantly and never gets wet, building up grease and grime. My girlfriend puts a lot of her jewelry in there and the solution ends up looking a completely different color because of all of the crap built up on her jewelry.

Mine? Not so much.

A hot shower isn't going to destroy your watch. Mine has withstood ten years of piping hot showers, not to mention hot tubs, swimming pools, and the ocean.

I am going to stick to vaerant watch cleaner or clean wrist whatever it's called, I will do that once a week and then ultra sonic once a year, keep in mind I only wear a watch 3 times a week Max and have 3 watch in rotation so each gets cleaned once a month Max if that

What a drama queen! Wash it with whatever you are washing your body with whilst you are in the shower. Then dry it with whatever towel is at hand. Life is a bit too short to get all OCD about it and it’s seriously uncool to be uptight about your wrist watch.

I use Koala Kleaner which removes all residue and makes the watch look brand new. Also comes with microfiber lens cloths on amazon.
