Congrats. Did you have to get the allocation approved by Patek HQ or was it at the AD's discretion based on how many pieces they would be allocated?

That's interesting as completely different to the UK where applications were made to Rhone.

Clearly a different policy to the UK.
As Karl says in the UK names had to be submitted and the watches were allocated. However the one advantage is once allocated you are guaranteed the watch and no payment is required until delivery.

My AD just called and asked if I wanted either referece. Thought about the 5711 because I wanted the original 5711P but never got it. At 44.05mm including the sides of the case it's just too big for me. I didn't hesitate to say no to the 5976/1G. At 113k (5711/1P) I would rather buy a 5970J (least produced of all the 5970's).

Size of the new 5711P is the same as all other 5711's including the original platinum request piece.

I can't digest the diamonds nor the text. Why would I want to look at a dial and see 2016? Why?

It is interesting how different the US and UK allocations are handled . Any word on if you have been approved for one? Which one did you put in for?

In my case, my approval request was made thru New York and to Geneva. My name was on the certificate from Geneva.

Considering what you bought that's ridiculous unless they just have customers that have spent more...best you look in the USA as it seems they just sit in the dealers Windows and you just go in and buy one

As I have said previously on here, in 20 years of buying Pateks they have not done one single thing to suggest they value my business. I lost my Patek mojo a couple of years ago following the 175th and some other problems I was having at the time with allocations and servicing, but I got over that eventually and bought several more pieces recently many of which I posted on here. Maybe this is the straw which breaks the camel's back and I stick to brands like AP who genuinely value my business.

RM 'values' your business as well (well minus SG boutique)

Yes RM have been pretty good to me. Life would be dull with only one brand in the collection so AP and RM it is, and possibly one nice totally illegible Lange!

Right who wants to buy some cheap Pateks - I want shot of them!

I voted yes as I do not dislike them. I was expecting something a little more special from PP.

Not to change the subject but tell me, does AP have some application pieces in their collection?

I find it hard to believe that Patek would not value you as a customer and don't doubt that other brands do but do they offer similar "special" models on top of trips to Geneva or other events?
