If you are already being bothered by some features and the appearance of it, it's most likely not for you.

There are plenty of other good watches out there.

Love my BLNR doesn't look purple to me at all and personally I think the GMT hand and bezel insert match really well.

Mine looks blue at all times but I had the same thoughts when I saw the Basel release video on ABlogtoWatch's website before buying it. With that said, I've seen 3 including mine "in the wild" and they all look blue.

It's beautiful and I certainly haven't gotten tired of mine yet.. You won't regret it and even if you do it's value will hold for some time.

Would you give up the SS for the TT?

This picture is beautiful. One of the best I've seen.

Luke-warm when I saw it in pictures but it did grow on me.

However, live I was disappointed.

Just my opinion.

I had the LN and sold it...I now have the BLNR and I LOVE it! Blue is my favorite color and the few differences between the 2 watches are a difference maker for me. I really like the white GMT Master II lettering on the dial along with the blue GMT hand much better than the green front and GMT hand on the LN.

I know it may sound crazy, but those small differences were significant for me!

It's a a great watch imho.
The blue/black bezel is gorgeous and I never noticed a purplish shade….
And believe me, I know what purple means.

Thank you very much. That's a tough call but no I wouldn't. I have in the past with a lot of flipping but have moved away from that. I have realized I love GMT's so for me I had to have them all. I am not too much of a TT guy until quite recently and I am loving them again go figure.

I totally agree with the OP. I was so excited when my ad called about the BLNR coming in. Opened up the box and just was underwhelmed. The blue was more purple as you said and just kind of clashes with true bright blue. I was very disappointed.

Well folks. I decided to go for it! I'm very excited. I think once I have some time to live with it I'll be able to decide if I keep it or not. I figured it's not going to depreciate any time soon so why not! That and you only live once! We'll you guys know all the mantras! I'm very excited. Will arrive Tuesday. Ugh I can't wait. In the mean time, time to sell off a couple pieces :)

Moreover, i noticed that the GMT hand blue doesn't really match the bezel blue and that bothered me a little. Does anyone else notice these things or might it just be the lighting in the AD's store? Part of me really wants to sell a few things off and take the plunge, but then when it came down to it, I just wasn't sure if I would get tired of it or not...

Anyone else feel the same way? Thoughts?
My least favorite...any of the others would get my vote over this.

Yes their video also made the PepsiC look purple too, but the BLNR is clearly blue in most light. They really need to correct this as their videos are otherwise very good quality and a great early way of seeing the Basel releases almost live.

why would you even consider spending $9,500 on a watch that you're not 100% in love with? The second I saw a photo of the bruiser online I knew I was buying it. When I finally was able to try one on at a dealer my heart started racing. It's my first rolex and most likely the only Rolex I'll own.

Sounds to me like you should be looking a different watch

I went home that night after having almost bought it and couldn't stop thinking about it. Went back the next day and decided to go for it. I'm really excited now. Worst comes to worst if I don't like it I'll sell it but I have a feeling that the longer I own it the more I'll like it because that seems to be how most people that purchased it feel. I think it's a really unique watch and have always said it's my favorite contemporary rolex. Iv been a vintage guy for so long I just wasn't sure if be able to get used to a gloss dial. However, I have 2 watches in my collection now. One, a 5513 being serviced and 2. The blnr. I find myself more excited to get the blnr surprisingly. Anyway I appreciate everyone's feedback!

When I look at it I never see purple. But then, I never see purple. Ever.

True story. I have this color blindness thing. Anyway... Congrats! Looking forward to the pics!

When I first saw it "live", I was underwhelmed too. But I still pull the trigger to get it.

Now, I love it!

The blue black bezel goes very well with office wear and casual wear, and the gloss on the bezel is really eye catching. The shade of blue do change on different lighting, and that adds a certain cool factor to it.

I have a White explorer 2 216570, but the BLNR look more "flashy" than the bigger explorer 2. I will go for the explorer 2 when I need a more understated look. But most of the time I will reach for the BLNR.

So go for it, it may look underwhelmed when compared to all the photos, but it will grow on you.

Just be prepared to sell all your other watches, because they won't get any wrist time after getting BLNR. At least that is my case.

Haha. I keep seeing people say this. That the blnr takes over all wrist time...
