Frankly, though. there is something patently patently ridiculous about a tween kid wearing a $8500 watch. His expectations and values may be distorted, but hey, I would have happily taken it as well!
I would have thought so; but when that kid tells you 'it is not the monetary value, it is my GRADFATHER's daily watch' and he proceeds to take it off to store in the safe and wear it only at special times....it changes the perspective. Even though it is his watch now, I would not allow him to wear it daily. That time will come. Today, it is a special heirloom for very, very special times.

Nice story Gerardo. Nice gesture from your father in law giving your son the Rolex that somehow connected him with his daugther. And excellent response from your son to such a present but at the same time sad situation. That Rolex certainly has a very special meaning.

Felicidades a tu hijo por la graduación!

Gerardo,

Wow.....roller coaster days! My condolences for your loss and congratulations on your son's graduation! My daughter will have her graduation (primaria) tomorrow and we are all very excited for the event.

For me a Rolex represents many things and wearing my collection reminds me of special moments. My grandfather bought my 5713 for me when I was 15. When I wear it it brings back so many memories. I am sure your son will experience something similar...

Un abrazo!!!
