IMHO if you have a budget of 7K and your looking to buy a Vinage Rolex, your in a comfortable income range. I would buy a nice 5513 with a matte dial and recent service verified by receipt. Spend in the $4k to $6k range. Do not buy your first vintage watch from EBay! Take advice from here and seek out a reputable seller. There are many out there.
I started with a $2k Datejust. Then a $3k Exp II and found many pitfalls from there to my first vintage. My favorites are now my 5513 "per-comex" and a gilt 1675. I'm glad I called on a few smaller wagers before going all in |

Sorry for just posting this now but I did some pencil pushing and my oysterdate 6694 and birthyear 1680 cost me approx 7k. That could be an option for you to scratch both sports and non-sports VR itch. Will post pics tom when I get them from RSC. Btw, 7k does not include what I spent for RSC service

There are many options for a $7,000 vintage Rolex. If you already have a GMT, why not look at one of the vintage Submariners - the 1680 or 5513. Good luck with your decision.

There's a place on 57th called Plaza 57. They have 2 locations within 1 block. Amazing selection but I have no purchasing experience.

I'd go after a 5512 or 5513 in that budget range.

It's an auction site, and they have one in NYC. I think it's ha.com , they have a lot of cool old day dates and vintage pieces from time to time.

Well my vintage crave is going to be on hold because I think it's a bit hard and a lot of research it took me 6 months to buy my gmt and I don't want to go down that road again I do love the 5513 and the 1680 but the one I've seen so Dave is in bad shape so I'll just go with a resent sea dweller

I'd probably get a 1680, hopefully with B&P.
