1. The black thing on the bezel is not a defect but due to a piece of gunk being lodged in the number. Not sure why. Really crazy. Managed to get it out with a tooth pick.

2. However, I noticed that there are also 2 defect on the watch dial under a loupe (not visible to the naked eye). They are like specks of dirt or blemish on the dial. I am finally able to send the watch to Rolex Centre after the lockdown. The watch is authentic - Thank Goodness. They told me that they have cleaned up the dial.

While I am thankful that watch is authentic and there is nothing wrong with the dial and its just cleaning done. But it left me with an uneasy feeling. I've barely worn the watch 5 times but yet the dial needs cleaning. I wonder if the QC is really so poor at the manufacturing? Is this normal or am I expecting too much?

Nice, glad issue is being resolved!

Daytona with defect on ceramic bezel

If it is an aftermarket bezel, it may go some way to explaining the lack of fusion with the [platinum] inlay.

You clearly aren’t aware of post #51.

Per OP, the RSC cleared the whole matter up. 100% authentic.

Put the loupe up and enjoy your watch.

OP, two rules:

1) Never use a loupe. If you can't see it with the naked eye, it doesn't exist.
2) The watch was designed and built to be worn. Wear it. Don't save it for the next guy.

Glad you resolved the issue.

The first one look like a black spec. The second one looks like blemish.

Rolex center called me back to pick up the watch just 2 days after I put it in hence I suspect it should be dirt which needs cleaning. I would think that a defect will warrant more repair/replacement and will not just take 2 days to rectify.

Honestly, I did not plan to observe the watch so closely with a loupe. I only do it after discovering the initial defect on the bezel, just to make sure there are no other issues.

Sorry Michael. This may be valid for you but I couldn't disagree more. I never bought a watch without my loupe and I never complained after I bought. Strange coincidence.

Agree with the advice to forget using a loupe. If you really want to have sleepless nights, just buy or borrow a microscope with the magnification of perhaps 1000X. You will see so many “flaws” that it will be shocking. Watches are made short of perfection and meant to be looked at with the human eye.

I agree with you 100% after the purchase, Frank, but before buying I strongly recommend using a loupe.
