It's ok just not under very hot water as it damages the joints hence water resistance, I sleep with mine, I know strange but feel better with it on my wrist, but never bathe or shower with it

Did you ever take a PP on one of your expeditions? I know you usually take your expII but would be really cool if you did. What PP do you have?

Hi,
Have never taken a patek on an expedition yet! Have worn the 5227 a lot on mountain walks.
I have a 5712g but it's getting traded in. It's not ax watch to wear for activities...for that I use a rolex.

I never sleep, shower or swim with my PP / APs.
Potential utility / happiness I'd get from swimming with my PP is nothing compared to a potential downside :))

My advice, unless one is trying to impress somebody (and I'm sure we have all done some pretty idiotic things for this purpose :)) one shall not do not swim or shower with a $30K watch :)

Ok from what I see it's possible to swim but I think I might hesitate, if the WR hasn't been tested regularly it would really damage the movement and that would mean a lot of dollars to repair it...
