PM box full

When does the PM box get full? I have a total of 26 messages, yet it says I am 100% full?

Same here. Looks like the number of allowed msg dropped to 10. Is this the new threshold?

10 Personal Messages is a new limit for non-contributing members.

I'm sorry for any inconvenience, but with the size of the forum preference has to be given to those who assist with the running costs.

Please dont take this the wrong way, but you might as well close off the FS/FT forum for paying members only as 10pm's is not enough to do any sort of business.

No, we'll leave it as present.

Non pledgers will just have to save/delete their PMs.

Wow - that's rude. I don't believe the contributions are that steep - plus, if you call yourself 'doing business' - have you ever heard of a thing called 'COST OF DOING BUSINESS'? Or are you looking for freebies?

I understand the cost of doing business, but it would have been nice if an announcement was made of the change.

The change took most people by surprise and it has affected people especially in the buy/sale area. My opinion is that it could have been executed with better form.

That is why I asked it not be taken in a bad way. :)

It is not just the sellers that are going to suffer. Less buyers will come as well. Buyers want to keep all correspondence and with 10 messages you only have 5 inbound and 5 outbound. If you want to charge to sell that is one thing. You are charging people just to inquire.

If that is the effect you want than no harm no foul. I am just thinking this could be an unintended consequence. I have a felling (although could be very wrong) that most people who contribute will contribute anyway. For for the rest this just seems like a "charge for feature" and their are too many free forums on the web they can just pack up and go to.

I mean no disrespect, just voicing concern.

You have always had the option to download your personal messages.
The regular members PM capacity of 90pm's has been restored for a couple of days.

So anyone who wants to keep their PM's then just download them.

I can understand guys that used large PM capacities for free, getting upset when they no longer have these large PM capacities for free.

The cost of a large PM capacity shouldn't break anyones bank account 'if they need it'.

So here is everyone's chance, download your PM's while you can if you are not prepared to spend a few dollars in paying for a higher capacity PM membership.

The complainers are generally those who like to take all the benefits and put nothing back.

Anyway, I restored the regular members PM capacity to 90 for the last couple of days so they could download all their buyers information for their little businesses.

Now the regular members PM capacities will be reduced to 20.

SO YOU HAVE HEREBY BEEN OFFICIALLY WARNED.

Hardcore AND Condescending.

You give people something for free for years and then you decide to charge for it and you act surprised people get upset; then you insult those who point out possible unintended consequences.

Lets get this straight.

You started the agressive communications here by telling me to close of the for sales forum for all but paying members, and you pretend to try and make it sound nice by telling me not to 'take this the wrong way.'

I told you and you should know that you can download your personal messages any time you like.

In case there were any PMs that you could not access I restored your PM capacity to 90 so you had an opportunity to download your PM's. This thereby relieved you of any problems that you may have encountered.

Your right you have had a free personal message facility for years, and the fact is you still have that today. Just because you've enjoyed something for free for years, doesn't give you the right to have that free forever.

This isn't a commercial forum, so when you go complaining about your business getting affected by only having a 10 personal message capacity, maybe you need to take your business elsewhere instead of complaining because you can no longer get as much free personal messages as you once had to run your business.

This isn't an insult, but what is an insult is the audacity you have to complain about a business (which I expect is making a decent profit) not being able to operate for free on this forum.

Your free personal message facility isn't actually free, someone actually pays for you to enjoy that for free, but you don't seem to appreciate that. All you seem to appreciate is you got something for free for years and now because it isn't the same you are entitled get angry towards those who gave you a free facility for years without any thanks from you at all...............

Wow did you take me the wrong way. . .

I have never sold anything here. I did post one FS a few weeks ago and typoed the title and could not edit it so I let it die. I do no trading here, nor was I planing to.

I do support other forums, I just have not used this one enough to support it. I have also moderated a very large FS forum (average of over 100 viewers just on the FS part at any given time). I was merely stating that placing a restriction on the PM's could keep buyers and sellers away. Nothing more.

I am by no means outraged that you placed the restriction on the PM's. This is your forum and you have the right to do with it anything you wish. And I ABSOLUTELY understand how much it costs to run a busy forum, or any website that has any appreciable number of visitor. I also understand the time and frustration involved. I have just found that a well ran FS forum can draw new people who may contribute and more people to get better advertisers.

I really did mean no insult or disrespect and am sorry I came across otherwise.
