I am considering a Sub LV and I have a question. Are the links Solid or hollow on the bracelet?

If it is a new Sub then it is only the end links that are solid. The bracelet design has worked for years and years that way and feels fantastic, as others will i am sure inform you.

Not arguing the working point. I just wonder why Rolex has solid links for other SS models, but not the sub? Just a question, not an indictment about quality or function.

There was a thread a few months back that one of members did a CAD drawing of the "solid center links" that actually showed that the links were hollow and not solid. There was some debate whether this was true or not, and I believe that after weighing a link, the theory was indeed fact.

the current LV has hollow centre links.

the new ceramic Subs (WG and TT variants so far...) has solid centre links.

Most links are hollow and a few are solid. Either way the bracelet is nice, functional, and will last for a very long time. Good news it will be cheaper to replace down the road than the updated bracelets.

Hi Eddie,

All the older SS Rolex models had HOLLOW centre links, exception being the SS/Pt YM.

It's only recently, that Rolex have gone all solid on virtually most of their models.

The LV Sub has the exact SAME Oyster Fliplock bracelet as the SS Sub-date 16610 so it will have HOLLOW centre links. Nothing to worry about though......still very, very strong and time proven over the decades that it's been in use.

In fact, my current and latest V-series Exp-II came on the Oysterlock bracelet with HOLLOW centre links - no problems at all!!
