I've had my LV for about 3 weeks and due to small wrist size about 6.5 inches
I had to attack it with a dremmel to take off one of the fixed links on the 6 o'clock side.

Fits so much better now its not wanting to always twist to the outside of my wrist and the clasp is much more centered.

Only 3 fixed links left.

Better make this a keeper.

I'm glad you now have your watch comfortably on your wrist...but I too have a 6 1/2 inch wrist circumference and my GMT and Sub ND fit on my wrist without taking out a fixed link. Is the bracelet on a Sub LV somehow different???

Everybody's wrist is different. Some might fall the right way based on the shape and others might be off to one side...

It all has to be customized for each person.

I'm lucky. Buy it, put it on and it fits from the factory. Glad you came up with a solution. You need to post it on ifixit.com.

Interesting. I have a 6.5" wrist as well. I have a 16610 and a 116710. I still have an extra link on both and mine is centered?

Looks good though. You are a brave man. The next time you do this (on your next Rolex), if you aren't worried about keeping the link (and you don't look to be), you can just pull it apart with two vice grips. Much quicker I'd guess.

My girlfriend thought I was a bit savage taking a grinder to my watch just to get it to fit better.

I too have a 6.5 inch wrist and a LV. With 2 links taken out of the 12 side, the clasp is always way off center but the watch sits pretty much where I would want it. Although I would love to do this mod, I don't think my stomach could handle it so I'm just gonna live with it as is.

Great pics and great watch. Congrats and wear it in good health. Cant do much better than an LV!

I also have a 6.5 inch wrist, but didn't feel the need to take out a permanent link. I currently have a 6/5 set up, and the watch is perfectly centered.

I'm impressed that you did it....for sure....and if it fits much better than before that's great!!!

One tiny thing that would always stop me from doing this would be that the 4 fixed links on either side this type of bracelet are ever so slightly tapered....the removable links are all parallel....so you can add and subtract them to your hearts content and the bracelet will still be 'right'.....but when you remove a tapered link then you end up with a very slight 'step' in the links between the last removable one (or the clasp end connection piece) and the first permanent one.....I only have the shorter GMT/Explorer type bracelet so I don't know if I would have the same problems with a clasp which also has the divers extension.....

I admire your bottle......it must have been a delicate moment when you first made contact between tool and bracelet and knowing that there's no way back.....a brave man for sure!!!

My wife wears the LV but it doesn't centre properly after taking all the removable links out. My watchmaker suggested switching the bracelet around and it works.
