Atomic's Explorer II
Found this photo of Atomic's Exp II on a old thread from last year. Good looking watch.
The more and more I look at the Black face Exp II, the more I want one. Simple, yet very rugged and functional. Slim profile. Has the 24 hour hand, but no rotating bezel. Several of my friends who have Rolex GMTs with Bezel and have put them through hard use seem to wear out the bezel, they get stuck etc. Plus do not have to worry about Bezel rotating to throw off time. Maybe just tie the Exp II in with serious expeditions due to all those ads Rolex makes with the Exp II. |

Yes, Chad....the Exp-II is a very practical watch with the same 3185 movement as the GMT-II.
Black dial or white....you can't go wrong with either. Excellent buy for anyone who is planning on purchasing one!! JJ

The reason yours (and mine, and many others) say "SWISS - T<25" is that it uses Tritium on the dial markers and hands to provide illumination (T for Tritium, <25 for the amount of Tritium used). Rolex (as well as most all other watches) switched to using Luminova or Superluminova on their markers and hands a few years back (I think the 90's, but someone else can be more precise). Tritium is a radioactive compound that glows on it's own, but dissipates due to a 12 year or so half life. Luminova gets activated by direct light and then glows for a period of time after dark. Again, welcome and lets see some pics of that Explorer!! |

With this arrangement, does your clasp sit DEAD CENTRE of your wrist? I wonder and doubt it 'cause in actual fact you should have an 8 + 5 arrangment. So what you need to do is take ONE link off the '6' side and attach to the '12' side. That way, your clasp will not move over to one side, but sit dead centre. In short, you should never have more than FIVE links on the '6' side. Here is a picture of my Exp-II which I had with the 8 + 5 configuration!!

D'oh... I was thinking that maybe you meant the last pictures. I seem to remember someone saying so earlier but now the post is gone.
I've been thinking of selling my black face explorerII and looking for either a non-date sub or standard explorer... I guess we'll have to see if I get any local offers.

Try the sales section here on TRF.
Doesn't hurt to list it. You can always say NO to any offers. Even a Trade post is an option
