Comex Sub's worth

Hello, just got back from offshore yesterday. Noticed the client rep had an old looking sub on. Closer inspection it was a Comex version. It was his everyday wear watch, which i thought was great. Was just curious as to how much it would be worth. Was tempted to make him an offer! lol! But realised did not have an idea where to start! (and could not afford it!)

They're worth a few bob to say the least Si....I work offshore as well and I have run into a couple on my travels....never made an offer to buy either.....maybe I should have.....I think it's great to see them in the wild, at least kind of getting used for what they were designed for, maybe not under water but in a harsh environment....I assume if you are in Scotland you're talking North Sea, it doesn't get much harsher, spent more than a few months out there in total.......now offshore time to time in the Caspian....a bit warmer to say the very least!!!....at least in summer!!!

Which Sub model do you think it was? It can mean a substantial difference in value.

There are those with plenty of cash who are fully prepared to spend £40,000 - £80,000 for a Comex, depending on the variant.

I doubt that the owner isn't aware of the comparative rarity of the watch and the huge sums that collectors are prepared to offer.
