3-5-9

Just before we got on the aiplane to go to Hawaii last week I got a phone call from my AD.

AD-"Mike, we just got a 359 in".

Me-"Are you kidding! I'm about to get on a plane for Hawaii"

AD-"No problem. I can hold it if you like"

Me-"Man I don't want you lose a quick sale. I would like to see it though"

AD-"No sweat. I'll put it in the safe. No obligation"

Imagine being in Hawaii and wanting to get back!

Anyway, we get back late Saturday and of course the store is closed Sunday.

But, Monday!!!

I've only seen the 359 in photos (some very good ones). but you really have to see the watch in person to get the feel of the combination of the vintage look of the dial combined with the 1950's case to fully appreciate the reference.

With it's patined luminova, 50's case, and in-house 9000 movement the 359 is a strong consideration for those looking for something a little different.

The watch came (beside the standard rubber strap) with one of the nicest leather straps I've seen on an out of the box watch. Still as big a Ted Su dive strap fan as I am I opted to put one of his excellent straps on it. This with a standard buckle I received from Mark (Theken)

A hard watch to photograph (and it shows) the 359 is a real attention getter.

Anyway on to the pics,

Love the sapphire caseback,

Don't think just because the luminova appears aged it doesn't work. If there's one thing Panerai knows it's GLOW!

Ted's strap is so comfortable.

Beautiful watch, Mike.
Congrats on your first "1950s case" Luminor.
Perfect addition to your growing Panerai collection.
Wear it in the best of times, buddy!

Nice choice! Although the all around arabic isn't my cup of tea, but I'm sure it's something different - like you said. I especially love the dark patina lumes...

Bryan, my wrist is about 7 inches. I have a relatively flat wrist so watches sit rather flat. I do think the 1950's style case has a bit to do with a good fit on a 44mm watch.

It is slightly curved, but not the domed crystal on some 1950 cases.

It is the same as the 312.
