Which may be true for what it's rated at, 'within 10 seconds a year', the new Bulova Precisionist. I know thermocompensated quartz can run within a second or two a year, but they usually need to be 'tweaked' for that, and aren't guaranteed.

The Rolex connection is that my Sub-c, (and my Milgauss), run +/-0 seconds/day. I will be interested to see which 'drifts' first and most.

I will post pix asap, but it may take a week.

The model # is 97B110, (and the 97M104 for my gf), for those who wish to look them up.

I look forward to seeing the pictures. My grandfather was a jeweler and passed down an old 1968 Bulova Spaceview so I have always had a special place in my heart for the brand. Enjoy it Chris!

The Citizen Chronomaster with the A660 movement is said to be the most accurate standard quartz watch in the world right now,and its rated to ±5 seconds per year .

Overall, the Omega Marine Chronometer is the most accurate watch ever produced, and I think it had a variation of less than two seconds a year.

Back to your watch, I think I'll be keeping my eyes open on the sales boards for one of those.

On second thought, I just saw that it is 46mm. Too big for me.

Bulova later amended the claim to say, 'The most accurate watch in the world with a sweep second hand.' Almost all quartz watches conserve battery power by only stepping the seconds hand once per second. The Precisionist moves the seconds hand sixteen times a second, which is fine enough that the unaided eye can't see the steps; it looks smooth and continuous like a Seiko Spring Drive, (but for 1/10 the money). The quartz frequency is I believe 8X the standard 32K, and is a 3-pole 'twisting' motion that improves accuracy without needing thermocompensation. It's a fun and interesting watch to 'watch', (p.i.), and is beautifully crafted especially for the price. I predict Bulova, (now owned by Citizen), will sell a slew of these.

True, that's why I got this one instead. It's only 42mm and I really like the rose gold look. The 97M104 I got for my gf is only 30mm and 8mm thick.

Looked at this today at Kay jewlers it was marked down to $400. The saleswoman said it was titanium but the top peice looked to be plastic. I was really supprised at how lite it was.

They seem a lot of "bling" for the money.
