Movement jewel count

17 movement jewels? 21 jewels? 41? If some jewels are good, and more are better, then this has to be the best watch ever made. A hundred jewels! Yep, a HUNNERT!!!

Meet the Waltham 100, with exactly 100 jewels. Mind you, 83 of them are placed around the rotor where they're guaranteed to do nothing whatsoever other than give you bragging rights the next time you're sitting around with other WISes discussing watch jewel counts.

That's a very interesting rotor construction, and as you say 100 jewels that puts any Rolex to shame

The Audemar's ROO has 59 jewels because it's a piggybacked movement. That was what I had previously thought had one of the highest jewel counts. A watch with 100 jewels is a bit of a novelty item.

I bet the watchmaker who was responsible for jeweling that movement was shaking his head the whole time...
