Omega Speedmaster Automatic Chronograph
Does anyone have any experience with these? I have been looking at a date model (ref# 3513.30) and really like them.
Pros/Cons and acceptable prices to pay? Any information would be really helpful. |

Well had a Omega daydate for a few years great watch, the slightly modded Valjoux movement was very accurate.Case and bracelet of a very high finish, the bracelet in some ways superior to the oyster.Price wise have seen discounts online for some of the Omega crono range 15%-25% off.Perhaps the only downside they dont seem to have a high resell value. But for the money a very good watch if its going to be a keeper.

As always, go through an authorized dealer. I've been really frustrated lately going through authorized dealers, seems they have their head where the sun doesn't shine. I did find an AD however that wants business and gave me a great discount. Cliff @ Beliza (954) 584-4490 and tell him Ryan referred you. He should be able to give you that watch in the ballpark of 1750+- (I know for a fact he can do about a 22% discount, he gave that to me on my new Aqua Terra) some margin of error. I know you can get them at authenticwatches.com for about $1600, but it is a grey market watch that route. At least this way you'd get the full warranty.
And being in California you won't pay sales tax, just a few bucks shipping The Speedies are great watches, and the Omega 1152 is an incredibly magnificent machine. Like Padi said, the value for your money is awesome, if you are buying for keeps and not resale, there is no reason not to get it! |

becareful with authenticwatches.com
you will never get the original papers nor warranty. purchased an omega planet ocean seamaster (great watch by the way) but they were soo risky while doing business, they tell you not to send it in to omega and if so not to say you got it from them. plus a watch with no paper or original warranty when suppost to be new to me is a bit strange.. the watch it self was amazing but there was nothing behind it to confort me in its authentisum |

If you shop around you can get up to 30% off from an AD (and go AD). Can't comment on this model but I am really impressed with my Omega.

Hi, Brendan. Had exactly the same watch but with a black dial. I had it for 2 years and only recently flipped it for a 50th Anniversary Patch Model. There was nothing wrong with my first Speedy -- it looked gorgeous and was both very accurate (no problems whatsoever) and comfortable to wear. Hope you get yours soon.

Omegas are great watches. If you're concerned about resale, you may want to buy a pre-moon Speedmaster Professional. They hold their value well and are gorgeous. They have no day/date, and have a black dial. Look nice with either the braclet, or strap.

Hi Brendan.
I know exactly what you mean, that Omega is a beauty. They make a really good and reliable watches for fair prices. There are no reasons for you not to buy this timepiece, except(maybe?) that there are so many other Omega`s that you may like even more. The movement in this one is legendary Valjoux 7750,the same one that Rolex puts in Tudor chronograph,so there should be no doubts about it`s accuracy and durability. My advise is that if you want to wear it yourself go for it,but if you thinking of re-sale,well,that`s another story.Omega`s are known as great second BUY,not great re-sale... But it`s a great watch, have no doubt about it.

How do you like it? Has it been a reliable watch? Does it feel solid and "substantial" when you are wearing it? I've thought about purchasing one.

These are great watches. Classic and contemporary all in one. No regrets.
